Discussion Description:
OK, this is a controversial thing to talk about but I can't help but notice a lot of... patterns with belief based on geography. For example, around 79.8% of people in India are Hindu, over 90% of people in Thailand practice Buddhism, and literally 96-97% of people in Pakistan is Muslim! Now of course, we, at least I'd assume most of us, live in America, which has a 62-68% Christian population, and there's data that 67-76% of all of Europe combined are identified Christian. Now what is my point here? Well, I can't help but notice, based on geography, it kinda determines what you believe in! Now I know the argument of "well just because you're in a certain environment doesn't determine your free will and what you actually choose to believe in" and though that is true to a certain extent, I can't help but feel where you are born really, REALLY has an impact on, well, where you spend for eternity? Like if I were in Thailand, according to the DATA, I have a really, really high percent chance to be practicing Buddhism RIGHT NOW. I might be at a Buddhist temple. And that's what concerns me, because thank God I'm in America and believe the true God and have a relationship with Jesus Christ Who took away all our sins, because if I were, well for example, in Pakistan, I don't really know what will happen to me eternity-wise. I'm kind of just yapping now but I really feel as though it's unfair that where we are born has an impact on our ETERNITY, which is unsettling to me. So, how can this be explained? And for those people who are in those countries where the religion practiced is not the true relationship with God, that is, how can we make sense of how one is even suppose to believe in the Holy Trinity in a country that goes the opposite way? And, is believing in God, the Holy Trinity, really based on geography?

It is based on one's own desire to know and love the Truth, the Light, and to choose to have faith and put their faith into God the Holy Trinity. The reason why there's so much of another religion in one place and another is because 1) There are not enough evangelists, 2) The evangelists working there have very little help, and so are in need of prayers, 3) The Churches there have fallen into the heresy called universalism, the wrong belief that EVERYONE will be saved in the end, and so they do not go out and bring people to Christ, and 4) the people there hate Christ and his Father, hate his Church, hate the Holy Spirit, and hate everything about Christianity, and so shun everything of Christ out of their region, therefore separating definitively themselves from God. Universalism is a very bad heresy needed to be avoided, for if universalism is true, then Christ became incarnate for no reason. But we know that Christ came to save sinners, bring people into the Kingdom of God, and to bring all who are willing to have faith and walk with Christ into intimate union and communion with himself. If they hold onto any beliefs that really contradict Christ's Faith, such as the belief that Jesus isn't God, rejecting the Trinity, among many others, they will not be known (intimately) by Christ, and so will not be saved. Now I am no one to Judge, God is the only Righteous Judge. The point here is that Universalism is a real heretical belief that puts the Church into a very watered-down version of what Christ established his Church to be. Universalism is not tolerated! That is one reason of why in one certain place it seems like there's a lot of different beliefs contrary to Christianity, the problem of Universalism. Repent of Universalism! Evangelizing people is really tough, especially with people with hardened hearts, so therefore there are not enough evangelists and the current ones are having a hard time, and so therefore are in need of more help and more prayers. The best way to help evangelists is to be with them in their ministry, in a prayerful state of being in communion with God. Christians today really need to be brave, get it together, and GO OUT and bring people to Christ. Because not everyone is going to be saved. That's the real truth. So the reason of why there's like 96% of people in Pakistan as Muslim, is simply because of the heresy of Universalism, but also evangelists themselves in need of extra help and aid, and of course people hating the Truth of Christ. But can you come to know Christ in a heavily populated place that is not Christian? Yes! Literally everyone over the age of 18 has heard of the name JESUS, except for really isolated regions. You can use Natural Theology (looking at your surroundings, and concluding logically there is One All-Powerful, All-Knowing, All-seeing, and All-Loving God) and your own rational thinking to come to a very limited understanding and belief of the Christian God. The Church is literally everywhere in the world. The Bible is the most sold book in the entire world. The point here again is that people in heavily Muslim or Buddhist countries can come to believe in the Truth of Christianity, and so come into the Life of the Church, live the Christian Life, and BE SAVED. It's very rare that one can come to know and believe in the Christian God all by themselves. If they actually do, they would still have a very limited understanding of who God is, and so that's why The Church is here, where the Holy Spirit dwells, and that's why missionaries and evangelists go out in the power of the Holy Spirit, so that they can come to know the fullness of truth about Jesus Christ, and enter into communion with him by living out His Faith. But if the Church is compromised in its beliefs, and if evangelists are too afraid to go out and bring Christ to people, what's it all for? How can they come to know Christ, unless someone sent by God goes to them and gives them the truth lovingly? So to answer your question in one sentence: no believing in God is not based on geography, it is possible to come to know Christ in a heavily Muslim/Buddhist/Atheist country, either by the Power of the Church or by the Holy Spirit's working in a person enlightening their rational thinking to come to a limited understanding of God, and the reason of why statistics are like this is because simply Christians today are not as strong as the Christians of the 1st Century, for most have fallen for the heresy of Universalism. If Universalism was true, Christianity would have had only 12 adherents, all in the 1st Century.
